Searching for True Love? Time to work on your self-worth

True love. A distant memory for many couples. Often lost in the conflict, resentment and defensiveness that can creep in over time. Love can though last forever if we’re brave enough to do the work; to look hard at ourselves and to reveal to another what we’re really like. It can be difficult to confront the bits of ourselves we don’t like much…it feels risky, but it can come with big rewards. Working on self-worth, knowing what you want as well as learning ways to self-soothe in a partnership are key and can help you both come to the relationship with your true self. Couple’s therapy is about doing the work in a safe space, to begin the journey to feeling understood, feeling heard and appreciated; the road to real affection, good humour and lasting love.
